Software License
The rules for installing and using Simbo's desktop apps and browser extension.

This license covers Simbo Speak for Windows, Mac and Chrome and our other downloadable software (the "Software"). It's part of our Terms of Service.
1. License
Simbo Technologies grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, for as long as you follow these terms.
2. Restrictions
Don't copy (except as needed to install it), modify, distribute, sell, rent or sublicense the Software; don't reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it except where the law allows despite this restriction; and don't remove notices or get around its security or license checks.
3. Updates
The Software checks for and installs updates to stay secure and compatible. Some features need the latest version.
4. Permissions the Software uses
The browser extension reads text in the boxes you type in so it can check spelling and grammar on your device. The desktop app reads text you select when you press its shortcut and pastes the result back when you choose Replace. Neither sends your text anywhere unless you use an AI feature, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Open-source components
The Software includes open-source components, such as the Harper grammar checker and the Tauri framework, under their own licenses. Those licenses govern those components. Simbo Speak's offline synonyms are a selection from WordNet, Copyright 2006 by Princeton University, all rights reserved, provided "as is" without warranties of any kind; the full notice ships with the app in NOTICES.txt.
6. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. Simbo and its licensors keep all rights not expressly granted.
7. Ending
This license ends if you break these terms or delete your Simbo account. When it ends, uninstall the Software.
8. Export
You'll comply with US export laws and won't use the Software in a country or by a person subject to US sanctions.
9. Warranty and liability
The disclaimers and limits of liability in our Terms of Service apply to the Software.
